Power Supplies
The power supply unit is the main part of the compute, where this power supply unit provides electrical power to all components of the computer. In the power supply unit the input electrical power which is in alternating form is converted in to direct current. Thus the power supply unit is provided with 120 or 240 volt alternating current and is converted in to fixed voltage and well regulated to a lower direct current voltage for the electronic devices and components in the computer.
The power supply units used in the computers is often called as switch mode power supply (SMPS).
