Media Center Remotes
The media center remotes are as the name states. They have additional functionality for Microsofts Media Cente software. Media center remotes there are mainly two main versions, they are older one (version-1) and newer one (version-2) which are supported by the latest lirc, and currently 0.8.1 is used. The new version-2 remote is available in various shapes and many different features.
The version -2 is advanced over the older version-1 where both the version is supported by IR receive and whereas the version-2 supports IR transmitter with driver module lirc_mceusb2 version >=0.24 (lirc-0.8.2), whereas the version-1 does not support IR transmission. In both the version of the media center remotes is support by IR blasting in Lirc. For changing the channels in the set top box IR blasting is more useful. In these media center remotes the sensitivity of the remote can be adjusted around 110000 gives a comfortable rate.
