A HT in a box has a built-in receiver and speaker outputs. Some have an Aux in, but I doubt they have digital audio out. You will have sound on all speakers. DD 5.1 on the HTB speakers and Stereo on the other Receiver's speakers. If the other receiver is also 5.1 you could connect the Optical or Coaxial out from your HTB to the corresponding input of your other 5.1 receiver. You will then get DD 5.1 through ALL speakers.
